Why is change necessary?

The lessons from our first decade as a foundation made it clear that we could enhance the impact of our work by adopting a more tightly focused direction.

In addition, the lessons from the foundation’s 10 years of grant making and community partnerships have made it clear that it must change its strategy to deepen its impact and achieve its mission.

Is The Endowment focusing its next decade of work primarily on children?

The next decade of The California Endowment’s work will prioritize investments in a limited number of places and will focus on improving the well-being of children - assuring their health, safety and readiness to learn - within neighborhoods impacted by poverty.
