The California Endowment’s Center for Healthy Communities, along with partner organizations, recently screened The Mask You Live In, and hosted a panel discussion around masculinity and the impact it makes on boys and young men. To kick off the program, Engaging Men, Street Poets Inc. and Rhythm Arts Alliance performed spoken word and African drumming for the audience in an invocation-like healing ceremony.

The panel was moderated by Frank Blaney, Program Coordinator of LA Fathers Program at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. The panel also included Leah Aldridge, Former Associate Director of Peace Over Violence, David Sanchez, Poet & Alum of Street Poets Inc., and Derek Richardson, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Why Can’t We Make a Difference Foundation.
