THE CALIFORNIA ENDOWMENT WEBSITE PRIVACY POLICY

Welcome to The California Endowment WEBSITE (the “Site”), owned and operated by The California Endowment (“we,” “us,” or “our”). The Site is designed to serve as an information resource for parties interested in The California Endowment. The following terms of use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Site. By using or visiting the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. We reserve the right to change these Terms at any time, effective immediately upon posting on the Site. PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION:

Unless you contact us to ask questions or request information, we do not collect information from you that identifies you as a particular individual (“personally identifiable information”). We use your personally identifiable information to answer your questions or provide you with the information you requested. We may also use your demographic information to tailor the Site to you and for internal purposes. We do not share your personally identifiable information with any third parties, unless (1) we determine that an applicable law, regulation or legal process requires it; (2) in response to a request from law enforcement personnel; or (3) if we determine that we need to share such this information with others to protect or enforce our rights under these Terms.

Occasionally we share your contact information (i.e. name, job title, mailing address, phone number, fax number and email address) with other grantees, funders and other non-profit organizations whose activities are, in our judgment, compatible with the goals and purposes of The California Endowment. Please note that changes to your preferences may not be effective immediately and will only be effective prospectively.

COOKIE POLICY:

When you visit the Site, we also use cookies and log your IP address. A cookie is a message that is sent to your computer from a Web server and stored on your computer’s hard drive. An IP address is a number that is assigned to your computer automatically when you use the Internet. Most WEBSITE’s use cookies and log your IP address. We do not link our cookies or your IP address to any of your personally identifiable information. We aggregate this information with that of other users and analyze it to improve the Site. We may share aggregated information with potential partners, advertisers, investors, content providers and customers, in connection with the promotion of our services. However, this aggregated information does not include any of your personally identifiable information.

NO ABSOLUTE SAFEGUARDS:

Although we will use reasonable efforts to safeguard the privacy of your information, transmissions on the Internet cannot be made absolutely secure. Accordingly, we assume no responsibility or liability for disclosure of your information (personally identifiable or otherwise) due to errors in transmission, unauthorized third-party access or other causes beyond our reasonable control.

CHILDREN:

We will not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under age 13.

THIRD PARTIES:

We do not control the privacy policies of third parties that have WEBSITE’S linked to the Site. If you click on a link, the privacy policies of the WEBSITE that you link to will govern the use of your information by that WEBSITE’s operator. We assume no responsibility or liability for the actions of third parties with respect to their use of your information.
