LOS ANGELES – The California Endowment’s President & CEO Robert K. Ross, MD has been named to serve on Governor’s Newsom’s newly announced bipartisan Task Force on Business and Job Recovery. The purpose of the task force is to develop a strategy to help California recover as quickly and safely from the COVID-19 induced recession, and to create a fair, green and prosperous future for all Californians.

“Even in the best of times California’s poor and marginalized communities struggle due to a lack resources including, access to living wage jobs, health care, nutritious food and safe schools,” said Robert K. Ross, MD, president and CEO, The California Endowment. “The health and economic impacts of COVID-19 on California’s diverse, low-wage workers are much more profound than we expected. It is essential we prioritize our most vulnerable populations as we seek meaningful solutions and interventions to restore the health of Californians and California’s economy.”

The task force will be co-chaired by Billionaire Philanthropist Tom Steyer and Governor Newsom’s Chief of Staff Ann O’Leary.

“I look forward to working with the diverse group of leaders and members of the Governor’s task force to ensure no Californians are left behind in this effort,” Ross added.
