The California Endowment’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Audit
At The California Endowment, we recognize that living out our core diversity, equity, and inclusion values requires ongoing attention, practice, and reflection on our work.
Regularly conducting a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Audit is one way that we ensure that we’re holding ourselves accountable to these values while striving for continuous improvement.
This August 2017 Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Audit presents key areas of progress and opportunity. The findings and considerations presented support TCE in a process of reflection, engagement, and action related to the values and principles that are at the core of our mission. By openly reflecting on our progress and challenges related to diversity, equity and inclusion, we hope that the audit fosters a broader culture of continuous improvement where we challenge ourselves to always do better and to advance—for the field, for our staff, and for the communities we ultimately serve.View our Mission, Values & Code of Ethics
The Executive Summary is organized into three sections that collectively benchmark’s TCE’s progress in our long-term journey toward advancing the foundation’s vision of diversity, equity and inclusion:
- The first section provides a snapshot of the current demographic diversity of TCE’s staff, Board of Directors, and grantees.
- The next section takes a step back to examine the current institutional supports that underlie advancement of diversity, equity and inclusion goals at TCE; and, finally,
- The Executive Summary concludes with an assessment of progress toward the specific 13 diversity, equity and inclusion goals TCE set forth for itself after the last DEI Audit in 2013.
The full report includes the same three sections and unpacks each of our goals more deeply. Thank you for your interest in TCE’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Audit. We look forward to being on this journey with you.
