Ready, Set, GO! to the 2008 Healthy Neighborhood Festival: Saturday, Oct. 11

The California Endowment's Center for Healthy Communities

On your marks! Get fit! Have fun! The Center for Healthy Communities presents its 3rd annual Healthy Neighborhood Festival, a block party for downtown Los Angeles that celebrates well-being, healthy choices and cultural excitement. Healthy living is fun for the whole family! 

  • Check your vital signs with free medical screenings
  • Experiment with fitness through heart-pumping activities like hula-hooping, break dancing, rock climbing and interactive world music and dance performances
  • Discover how to maintain good health at home through local resources, businesses and organizations
  • Win one of many raffle prizes!

Admission and parking are free at this interactive event for all ages.

The Healthy Neighborhood Festival collaborated with local community partners to establish performing arts residencies in local schools and community centers to promote fitness and activity. The results of these residencies will be showcased through live performances throughout the fesitival.

The gallery exhibition, Food Fight! will also be open during the festival.
