Go to The California Endowment’s website Calendow.org and click on the Go!Gifts application link and follow the prompts. No proposal or budget is required.
Are fiscally sponsored projects eligible?
No. Organizations must be a 501(c)(3) public charity nonprofit organization or a federally recognized tribal government. A non-federally recognized tribe is eligible to apply if they are also a 501(c)(3) public charity nonprofit organization.
What if my organization was previously fiscally sponsored and funded by The Endowment, but is now an independent 501(c)(3), do we still qualify to apply?
Only organizations that have not received funding from The Endowment in the last 15 years are eligible and must be a 501(c)(3), or a federally recognized tribe.

Yes. The operating budget requirement does not apply to federally or non-federally recognized tribes.
How long until I hear back on a decision?
Within 3 business days or less on the status of your request. If a conflict of interest is noted in the application, this will create delays in notification.

Yes. The expenditure of these funds must only be used in compliance with 26 U.S.C. § 501(c)(3) for lawful activities that are consistent with The Endowment’s mission. Furthermore, if your organization is a Tribal Nation, the expenditure of these funds must be made exclusively for public purposes consistent with Internal Revenue Code Section 170(c)(1).

This is a one-time funding opportunity to pilot a new approach to advance trust-based philanthropy within The California Endowment and make new connections in rural and tribal communities.
Why were these counties chosen?

Who should I contact if I have technical difficulties applying?

Who should I contact if I have questions related to Go!Gifts?
Please email EnterpriseInnovations-Website@calendow.org and use the subject line: Go!Gifts. We ask that all questions are submitted prior to the launch date. As a reminder, funding is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, so we encourage you to submit your application in a timely manner. All funding decisions are final.
We met all of the eligibility criteria but did not receive funding. Why?
Meeting all eligibility criteria does not guarantee funding. Requests are reviewed in the order they are received. Funding is awarded to organizations that meet all eligibility criteria, on a first-come, first-served basis, until all 100 Go!Gifts have been distributed.
Funding decisions are final; however, this does not preclude organizations from being considered for future funding opportunities with The Endowment.
When will Go!Gifts recipients receive payment?
Go!Gifts recipients will be paid via EFT/ACH payments or by check, depending on their payment preference. The California Endowment strongly encourages EFT/ACH payments for more secure, faster payments.
Will I be able to save my application and finish it later?
No. You will not be able to save progress on the Go!Gifts application form. We encourage organizations to dedicate appropriate time to complete the application.
Is there an application deadline?
No, the application will open on June 23, 2026 at 9am and will close once all funding has been awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
Who from my organization should submit the application?
Your organization will need to designate a primary point of contact for the application process. Please select someone who has the authority and authorization to submit the application on behalf of your organization, as they will be responsible for managing the application, including communications with TCE, oversight of program activities, and receiving funds.
Can I apply to fund more than one project at my organization?
Only one Go!Gift will be awarded per organization.
Does my organization need a Bill.com account prior to applying? Is there a cost associated with making an account?
You do not need a Bill.com account in order to apply. However, if awarded a Go!Gift, The California Endowment strongly encourages EFT/ACH payments through Bill.com for more secure, faster payment. Creation of a Bill.com account is free.
Can we apply if we are in the process of receiving our 501(c)(3) status?
Unfortunately, no. Organizations need to be a 501(c)(3) in good standing with an operational EIN.
Is there a limit to how many organizations will be funded per county?
No. Go!Gifts will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
Will there be reporting requirements for Go!Gifts recipients?
