Jose Cordon uses what he describes as “a powerful combination of inspiring and motivating storytelling and spoken word poetry” to produce “a new brand of poetry, Poetic Speech.”
As a busy working artist, Cordon uses his unique voice and perspective not only to express his own poetic vision, but also to bring creative opportunities to other folks with lots to say: from young men in juvenile hall, to immigrants and day laborers.
Cordon also works as an anti-eviction activist in San Francisco’s East Bay. In his original spoken word piece for The California Endowment, Cordon shares his dream of a California with “no inequities, more solutions; no evictions, no abuses.”
