Tim Haydock

Haydock has seen firsthand the difference in opportunities available to him and to his BIPOC friends and neighbors, and he’s working to change the system.

Through his work at the Youth Leadership Institute, he supports young Fresno residents in advocating for restorative justice programs at their schools, more green spaces, better air quality monitoring and more.

“I only want to belong in California where everyone else also belongs. I want to make sure that there's space for everybody to be themselves, to thrive, to be valued and to be loved. That's the only California I want to be a part of.”

“I think it's my responsibility to change the system so that everybody does have an opportunity to thrive in their community.”

“We can have, as we do in California, an amazing, diverse, beautiful group of residents, but if we don't have a system that's going to support them all, it kind of falls flat.”
