It is with a heavy heart that we celebrate the life of Kobe Bryant, who brought the will and determination of a champion to the community of Los Angeles.  I had the pleasure of meeting Kobe in his advocacy work on homelessness and the HomeWalk some years ago, and in recent years his advocacy presence for women in sports was equally inspiring.

Our hearts and prayers keep him, his daughter Gianna, as well as all of the victims and families affected by this untimely tragedy.  Let us channel Kobe’s legendary tenacity and resolve into the work of social justice and equity for all.
